Those were the words of Reverend Jim Bowie as he welcomed 80 people to the inaugural meeting of the Crispus Attucks Tea party Tuesday night. The setting was “This Is It” Restaurant in the Third Ward ..and the meeting sure lived up to the name of the restaurant!
Jim Bowie, Dr. Earl Johnson and Anita Moncrief are the founders of the Crispus Attucks Tea Party and after reading the press release last week on the American Spectator blog I had to go support some of my new friends. I’d met Jim Bowie over the summer through Terrence Bogg’s events at Casa Grande; met Earl through King Street Patriots and John Faulk’s redistricting study group and of course, had already known of Anita Moncrief through her expose on ACORN and appearances at King Street Patriots. It just goes to show ya what happens when you shut off the TV, get off the couch and get outta the house.
The evening started at 5:30, for me anyway, with a full and fabulous plate of mashed taters, corn and “This Is It” meatloaf. Please support this great local small business. They used to be located on West Gray in Midtown and are now on Blodgett. Twenty of us dined in a private dining room before the general meeting began at 6:30 pm and, as Dr. Johnson later told the group “we sat together & ate together, living Dr. King’s dream”.
Boy did he really hit the mark with that.
I’ve no doubt the Big Government statists trying to divide this great nation along color lines have their heads spinning right about now, ala Linda Blair in “The Exorcist”.
After Dr. Langston Gillum gave the opening invocation, Dr. Earl Johnson pointed to the group’s banner and the mission statement of the Crispus Attucks Tea Party:
“To build a strong base of Conservative Black entrepreneurs elected officials and Constituents that provide Black Conservatives a viable way to express and implement their Conservative values politically. Create, promote and maintain positive identities within the minds of the descendents of

Now THAT’s some inside scoop fer ya, huh? Are the heads of the secularists spinning yet?

Lots of other folks were in attendance; Bill Calhoun and Mona Lisa Chambers of the Texas Republicans Historically Black Colleges & Universities Initiative, Carl Pittman, who’ll be running for Harris County Sheriff, John and Mary Lynn Faulk, Catherine Englebrecht, Becky Bowyers, Mark Antill, and Kendrick Dean, just to name a few. Grass roots folks just like you and I. No George Soros funding here.
BTW: Someone announced at the meeting that Herman Cain, former Godfathers Pizza CEO would be in the
So, let the word go out from here today; the Crispus Attucks Tea party is here to stay. Their next meeting is February 2nd at “This Is it”. Please be sure to RSVP via email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
