Note: From time to time, we will print Op-Ed's written by candidates or political activists. This piece was written by Tom Bazan in response to the Houston Chronicle's Peggy Fikac's Commentary on Democratic Gubernatorial candidate Bill White titled Three events pointed White to campaign trail. Thus far, the media appears to have gone "ga-ga" over Mr. White, completely ignoring his record as Mayor of Houston: Mr. Bazan hopes to begin to set the record straight.

We need to defeat any Progressive, at any political office.  That goes double for "Citizen Bill" White.

The Progressives gave us Prohibition early last century, and now, they want to take over our lives, and destroy capitalism.

This is the guy who was Hazel O'Leary's Left Hand Henchman.  While Bill White was at the DOE, the U.S. Gov't intervened more than once on behalf of Enron, and yet we still don't know how much Bill White helped Ken Lay.

While in "business" I read where he worked for a wealthy Lebanese businessman, reportedly a suspected arms dealer.  Maybe we can get the press to chase this down like they would a Sarah Palin story?

Bill White was on the Board of the Texas Planned Parenthood organization which has now constructed the world’s largest abortion mill in Houston.

While the Autocratic Mayor, Bill White took away the right of a citizen to change a flat tire along the road, and shouldered taxpayers with a wasteful towing scheme.

Bill White hired that Phoenix goof ball, Harold Hurtt, who stayed in a $750/night luxury suite for months, and seemingly encouraged the "Sanctuary City" welcome for illegal aliens.

Bill White hired a local crony to straighten up Lee. P. Brown's mess at the Housing Department, but ended up having to repay $25 million to HUD, while the crony quit to run for a county office.

He hired a guy to run Public Works who had snuck out of Washington D.C. when the EPA was sanctioning the city for excessive Lead levels in the drinking water.

Bill White also empowered METREAUX, by refusing to collect ALL the mobility funds due Houstonians, in what appears to allow the expansion of the Lee. P. Brown legacy boondoggle, 3rd-world-class rail line.

Mayor Bill White used the Employees pension fund to cover the bond debt on the Convention Center Hotel.

I think I made my point.

God help not only Texas, but the nation if Bill White dupes the voters into electing him.
