The degradation of liberal Houston blogger Charles Kuffner continues today with yet another attack on the King Street Patriots. My guess is that the stress of Bill White's impending doom has contributed to Kuff's demise but that is only a guess. It could be the loss of control of the local narrative. Or maybe that the R's are going to increase their numbers in the Texas state and federal delegations next Tuesday. Or perhaps his support of something that Gary Polland supports. Who knows? But what is clear is that he has lost any and all appearance of impartiality, if he ever had any. I thought he did, but what do I know? Take a look at the bovine processed hay he puts up today about the King Street Patriots, a group that has dedicated themselves this election cycle to having open and fair elections:
TDP to get KSP’s financial records
There isn't much to quote because (a) I generally don't do that and (b) all he did was copy and paste from two Colorado Model financed groups. Ridiculous, both their attacks and his copy/pasting them as something worthy of reading.
But I will quote this one sentence:
I still haven’t seen any reporting on it in the Chron.
And you damn well better not, at least in such a completely biased fashion. If we do see it, we'll call out the reporter by name, as well as the paper. And we'll continue to call that reporter out. Because here is what you have going:
Progressive funded media - quoted by progressive blogger used to controlling local narrative - local blogger whining because local media isn't following his narrative
Anyone, and I do mean ANYONE that thinks the American Independent is either independent or non-partisan is blinded by their own partisanship. And the same goes for the Lone Star Project - btw, they used another of my copyrighted pictures without attribution - what a group, no?
And now for the facts: King Street Patriots has had this information up on its website for TWO days. Sorry you just now noticed, Kuff.
And now for some truth: these guys, (Texas Dem Party, American Indpt, Lone Star Project) are trying to BULLY this group into releasing confidential donor names. Why aren't they asking Houston Votes to do the same? Why doesn't American Indpendent release its donor list? Why doesn't Lone Star Project release its donor list?
And why not sue the NAACP and force them to release their donor list?
I'll tell you why: because the Supreme Court says NO.
Isn't it ironic that these pukes are trying to force the King Street Patriots to do what the Klan via the State of Louisiana tried to force the NAACP to do in 1956, which was finally ruled on in 1961? That's right, the Klan wanted to see the member and contributor list of the NAACP in order to put pressure on them to stop.
These guys have no shame. None.
Kuff, you've lost it. I hope that you can regain some of your integrity back over time.
And I've got some more news for you: King Street Patriots will not allow you to bully them. Get used to it.
(note: I linked to it above but please do go read Dr. Kevin Whited's column on the Colorado model - it is the only way you will fully understand what is happening in this case.)
UPDATE: Like I said, KSP is not going to be bullied.
