UFCW Unions in Louisville, Houston, Louisiana and New Jersey Finally Wake Up; Seek Temporary Waiver from ObamaCare - SEIU Local 1 in Houston Still Asleep

NOW they tell us they don’t want ObamaCare. Oy.

Democratic Senator Ron Wyden from Oregon voted FOR Obamacare back in March 2009 and on September 1, 2010 announced he was seeking to exempt his state from some of the health care “reforms”

Then the Department of Health and Human Services received an application from the New York City (Democratic controlled city) union United Federation of Teachers Welfare Fund on September 16th, 2010 asking for an exemption to ObamaCare. It was granted on September 27th, 2010

Now locals affiliated with the same unions that agitated in favor of Obamacare are seeking a temporary repeal of it for their members.

Here’s the list of 111 one year waivers granted from HHS.

  • The UFCW 227 in Louisville, KY is one of them.
  • The UFCW 1262 in New Jersey is another.
  • The UFCW Local 455 in Texas and Louisiana is also one of them.

While the UFCW Home page continues to promote “better understanding” of Obamacare for their members…

at least the UFCW Local 455 (representing Kroger employees in Texas and Louisiana) has shown some semblance of waking up to the job-killing, premium-hiking and economy-killing effects of this disastrous legislation.

SEIU members in Texas?

Specifically SEIU Local 1 in Houston?

They’re still sleeping…..
