Texas House 127 Candidate Dr. Susan Curling's Priority Issues

dr-susan-curling_logoIn an effort to give voters as much information as possible on each of the candidates running for the Republican nomination in the Texas House District 127 race, I am providing a forum for each candidate to outline their priority issues. These answers are verbatim from the candidates. No endorsement is either intended or implied for any candidate in the series.

Candidate Dr. Susan Curling outlines her three priority issues:

A low tax, business friendly environment

As I have founded and maintained a business, and recently completed my MBA, I realize the negative impact of increased taxes and regulation on businesses.  I have seen how changes such as tort reform can transform the business environment and attract the best physicians to Texas.  I would support similar leadership moves in Texas that will attract business and jobs for our neighbors and children.

Securing the border/protecting our elections

Homeland security begins at the Rio Grande.  If the federal government does not appropriately defend our border, Texans will have to step up to the plate.  We need to support our border sheriffs with manpower and technology to defend the border and stop sanctuary cities.  An integral part of this plan is smart, fair voter identification so that our elections cannot be violated by those outside our district or in our country illegally.

A healthy, well educated workforce

As a physician leader for over twenty years, I am best suited to help Texans access the very best health care.  I will defend our citizens against bad health care laws.  Likewise, with a 13 year old of my own, I will assure that she and all of our children have the best education by assuring transparency and local control, while establishing a vision for the future that incorporates the very latest technology and opportunities for every child.
