Welcome

Thank you for stopping by Big Jolly Politics' Elections Information pages. There are so many elections and races within elections that it is hard for voters to keep up, especially with down ballot candidates.

As such, these pages will be candidate 'centric'. There are other, better and more exhaustive sites for historical research and data analysis. One of these sites, Greg Wythe's Texas Almanac, was the inspiration for these pages.

Our goal will be to gather as much information as possible on each candidate, helping the voter to make an informed choice. The format is the familiar Wikipedia style, allowing the public to edit the information directly. Due to the importance of election information, editing will be limited to registered users only. While that may seem to be an inconvenience, imagine if you were running for office and your opponent entered false information. We think that by limiting edits to registered users, we can minimize that potential problem.

Registered users may also create pages, just like the real Wikipedia. Of course, the pages must be limited to the current topic at hand, with the exception of candidate pages. If you are, were, plan to be, might be, know someone that has, might, will or plans to run for office, create a page for them if one doesn't already exist. Just search for their name to find out. When they do run or if their background might be useful in analyzing a particular race, we can then include the page that you created.

We will ask that you email us prior to making styling changes to pages we have already created!
